We use acupuncture as a calm, regular support for stress, anxiety and poor sleep, alongside your doctor's care. You see Dalibor Covic, R.TCMP, at our clinic near Dixie Rd and Hwy 401 in Mississauga. Your first visit is a full conversation about stress, sleep and energy, then a quiet first treatment (some people fall asleep), about 1 hour 15 minutes.

What happens at the first visit?
- We listen. What's going on: stress, mood, sleep, digestion, energy, health history and medications.
- We assess. A TCM assessment including your pulse. Two people who both say "I'm stressed" may be treated quite differently.
- We treat and plan. Your first acupuncture treatment, then a plan that may include herbs or sleep and routine changes, with costs explained before you commit.

Alongside your doctor
Acupuncture works alongside your doctor's or therapist's care, not instead of it. Results vary from person to person, so we won't promise one. After your first visit, Dalibor tells you honestly whether he thinks it's worth continuing.

Every visit is with Dalibor, from the first examination to each follow-up. He is a Registered TCM Practitioner with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario, has practised for 10 years and has treated more than 3,000 patients. He treats in English, Serbian and Croatian.

Before you book
What does the first visit cost?
The first visit is the initial examination ($110, about 60 minutes, including a pulse assessment) and your first acupuncture treatment ($120), about 1 hour 15 minutes in total. Follow-up treatments are $120 each. If Dalibor suggests a plan, he tells you what it costs before you agree to anything.
Can acupuncture help with stress, anxiety or sleep?
Many people tell us they feel calmer and more settled during and after a session, and some fall asleep on the table. Research on acupuncture for anxiety and insomnia is growing but mixed, and it isn't a replacement for counselling, therapy or medication your doctor has prescribed. We see it as a support that sits alongside that care.
Should I stop my medication if I start acupuncture?
No. Please don't change or stop any medication, including sleep or anxiety medication, without talking to the doctor who prescribed it. Tell us what you take so we can plan around it.
I'm nervous about needles. Is that a problem?
It's very common. The needles are much finer than the ones used for injections or blood tests. We explain each step, start with fewer needles if you prefer, and you can pause or stop at any time.
How often would I come in?
Many people start with weekly sessions for a few weeks, then space them out as things settle. We'll suggest a plan after your first visit and adjust it based on how you respond.
Is it covered by my benefits?
Many extended health plans cover the initial examination and acupuncture by a Registered TCM Practitioner. We bill Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, Green Shield and Desjardins directly; for other insurers you get an invoice to submit. We can't see your coverage, so please check with your insurer before your visit.
Where is the clinic, and is there parking?
Unit 229, 1550 Enterprise Road, just off Dixie Road, south of the 401. Parking is free in the lot with no time limit. MiWay Bus 5 stops at Dixie Road and Shawson Drive, about a four minute walk.
